Abstract
AIM: To discuss the effects of Xiaochaihu Tang on morphology of ectopic endometrium in experimentally induced endometriosis in rats. METHODS: Basing on the rat model, ectopic endometrium was evaluated by observing the changes on macroscopic specimen optics and transmission electron microscopy. RESULTS: After treatment with Xiaochaihu Tang of 5, 10 or 15 g·kg -1 ·d -1 for 4 wk. The volume of the ectopic endometrium was reduced, the ectopic endometrium undergone atrophy; together with markedly growth inhibition under optics and transmission electron microscopy. CONCLUSION: The results suggest that Xiaochaihu Tang posseses potential effects on treatment of endometriosis in rats.
