Abstract
p0.09). The meanSD adhesion severities of control, oral and intraperitoneal groups were 1.60.91, 0.250.42 and 1.31.51, respectively (p0.009). The oral group had fewer and less severe adhesions that were statistically significant in all sites when compared with the other groups, whereas the mean adhesion extent and severity were not significantly different between the intraperitoneal and the control groups (p0.459 and p0.356, respectively). However, intra-peritoneal administration showed a tendency to reduce the extent and severity of adhesions in all sites when compared with the control group. Conclusions: Leflunomide was found to reduce the formation of postoperative adhesion in a rat uterine horn model possibly by its inhibitory effects on cytokine production and cell migration.
