Abstract

Having reviewed earlier in substantial details the etiopathogenesis in addition to treatment of endometriosis be it medical/ surgical, or sclerosing therapy here we present retrospective data of endometriosis in reference to a European (Finnish) country in the context of first pregnancy that occurrs subsequent to infertility treatment secondary to endometriosis. It was observed that overall, 54.1% had a live birth at the time of follow-up, with a) peritoneal endometriosis possessing a greater promising prognosis once contrasted to i) ovarian or ii) deep infiltrating endometriosis. Longitudinal follow-up over the reproductive lifespan got yielded. Despite a reassuring prognosis meaningfully caveats existed. Over 50% of patients with endometriosis attained a live birth subsequent to surgical diagnosis, as well as phenotype in addition to age possessed significance. The outcomes hence are maximum conducive in reference to prognosis as well as counseling, not for drawing conclusions that surgery results in improvement of fertility or that one phenotype works superior over other due to lack of availability of certain variables.
