Related specialties

Abstract The final chapter of the book refers to related specialties of particular relevance to clinicians caring for colorectal patients. In the gynaecology section are several conditions which may be seen by the surgical service due to similarities in their presentation. Management of endometriosis and some gynaecological malignancies may also require combined surgical approaches and is one of the reasons that detailed knowledge of these conditions is an important part of the surgical curriculum. Urological conditions are also included in this chapter including STIs and management of both ureteric and bladder injuries.
