Abstract

To evaluate the diagnosis value of three-dimensional hysterosalpingo contrast sonography (3D HyCoSy) with positive and negative contrast agent in infertility. Two hundred and forty-eight patients underwent transvaginal 3D HyCoSy. The fallopian tubal patency and uterine cavity were evaluated after SonoVue injection and the following saline, respectively. 158 patients showed normal tubal patency and uterine cavity. 8 cases showed normal tubal patency and abnormal uterine cavity (1 subseptate uterus, 1 intrauterine adhesion, 2 arcuate uterus, 4 endometrial polyp). 7 patients with one tube resected showed the other side patency in 5 and partially passable in 2. 17 patients were one side patency and the other side partially passable with 3 abnormal uterine cavity (1 subseptate uterus, 2 endometrial polyps). 5 women were bilateral partially passable. 42 women were one side blocked with the other side partially passable in 11, the other side patency in 31 (concomitant 1 subseptate uterus, 1 unicornuate uterus and 2 endometrial polyp). 11 women were bilateral tube blocked (concomitant 1 hydrosalpinx, 1 distal end occlusion, 2 endometrial polyp, 1 submucosal myoma and polyp, 1 intrauterine adhesion). Combined application of SonoVue and saline can improve the displaying rate of both uterine cavity and fallopian tubal in HyCoSy.
