Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of progesterone receptor isoforms in the eutopic and ectopic endometrium from women of endometriosis. Methods: Forty women with endometriosis were selected as study group.40 ectopic endometrium, and 18 matched eutopic endometrium were collected from them simultaneously at the time of surgery.20 normal endometrium were obtained as control group. The mRNA expression of progesterone receptor isoforms was detected by Reverse transcript polymerase chain reaction. Results:The density of PR-A+B mRNA expression in ectopic endometrium(0.09±0.02) from endometriosis patients was significantly fewer, compared with that in eutopic endometrium(0.81±0.16) and normal endometrium(0.83±0.11) without endometriosis(P﹤0.01).The density of PR-B mRNA expression in ectopic endometrium(0.04±0.01) from endometriosis patients was significantly fewer, compared with that in eutopic endometrium(0.64±0.16) and normal endometrium(0.63±0.09) without endometriosis(P﹤0.01).Conclusion:The low expression of PR-A+B mRNA and PR-B mRNA of ectopic endometrium might contribute to the development of endometriosis.
