EP13.24: Relugolix combination therapy: ultrasound morphological changes on endometriosis and adenomyosis

Objectives: To perform a scoping review of recommendations across regions and professional societies on performance and reporting of endometriosis findings at ultrasound over the past ten years.Methods: Recommendations on reporting of endometriosis findings at ultrasound were identified from systematical search of PubMed and from guidelines accessible from other sources identified by the authors published in 2016-2026.PubMed was searched for guidelines/practical guidelines/statements/consensus/recommendation/ reporting template/structured report on endometriosis and ultrasonography.Results: The search generated 185 publications, out of which nine were duplicates, 140 were excluded at first assessment of the abstract and 27 were excluded at second assessment of the abstract and/or brief assessment of the publication.Thus, nine publications were selected for full-text review from PubMed search.Additionally, eleven publications were identified outside the PubMed search by the authors.In total, 20 publications were reviewed.Six publications provided recommendations on standardized ultrasound examination and detailed reporting of endometriosis findings, including templates or checklists: five of six recommended reporting following International Deep Endometriosis Analysis (IDEA) group consensus and one recommended a reporting template of different structure.Of the remaining 14 publications, seven included a brief recommendation on how to report ultrasound findings.Conclusions: Few of the identified publications included a detailed description on how to report findings at an ultrasound examination for suspected endometriosis.Although the IDEA consensus has been available for ten years, its use in reporting remains limited.Implementation of standardized performance of ultrasound examination and reporting of endometriosis findings is warranted.
