Clinical observation of 175 cases on the effects of medical treatment for endometriosis

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects and safety of gestrinone,oral contraceptive and traditional Chinese medicine for treating patients with endometriosis.METHODS 175 endometriosis cases were analyzed retrospectively.Of these cases,55 were administered gestrinone,52 were administered oral contraceptive,68 were administered traditional Chinese medicine,curative effects and side effects were compared among these groups.RESULTS There were no significant difference in curative effects among three groups(P0.05).The side effects rate of gestrinone was significant higher than that of oral contraceptive and traditional Chinese medicine(P0.05);the incidence rate of hepatic function lesion was significant lower in traditional Chinese medicine group(P0.05).CONCLUSION There are no difference in curative effect among gestrinone,oral contraceptive and traditional Chinese medicine.Oral contraceptive has a good tolerance and easier to be accept.Traditional Chinese medicine is the first selection for endometriosis with hepatic function lesion.
