Abstract
Objective:To explore the function of estrogen receptor(ER) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in the pathogenesis of endometriosis by detecting the expression levels of ER subtypes(ER-α and ER-β) and VEGF in endometrium of cases with endometriosis. Methods:The expression levels of ER and VEGF in eutopic and ectopic endometrium of cases with endometriosis were detected by immunohistochemical method. Results:There was no significant difference in ER-α level among the groups(P0.05).The levels of ER-β and VEGF in eutopic endometrium of endometriosis group was higher than that in endometrium of control group(P0.05).Conclusion:The abnormal expression of ER subtypes in eutopic endometrium of endometriosis maybe regulate the expression of VEGF,which promotes new vessels production and produces blood for the growth of ectopic endometrium.
