Abstract

Objective The purpose of this study is to explore the causes for recurrence of endometriosis after operation. Methods The data of 96 patients with endometriosis admitted into this hospital were retrospectively analyzed for the relationship between recurrence and their pathological types and stages of disease. Results The difference in recurrence between ovarian type and pelvic or vaginal-rectal types was statistically significant;and the difference in relapse between peritoneum type and ovarian type was not statistically significant. The difference in recurrence rates between ovarian and peritoneal type or between vaginal-rectum type and pelvic type was not statistically significant. The difference between relapse rates in patients with Ⅰ~Ⅱ stages and Ⅲ,Ⅳ stages was more statistically significant. Conclusion The relapse of intrauterine endometriosis after operation is closely related to pathological types and stages of the disease.
