Abstract
Objective To investigate the role of survivin in endometriosis and its correlation with vascular endothlial growth factor(VEGF)in angiogenesis. Methods Immunohistochemical streptavidin biotin peroxidase was applied to examine the expression of survivin and VEGF,in 22 normal, and 51 ectopic endometrial tissues. Results Survivin was detected in 27 of 51(52.94%)ectopic endometrial tissues, but 9.09% in normal endometria;the expression of survivin in the two groups was significantly different(χ2=12.34,P0.01);VEGF was detected in 34 of 51(68.63%)ectopic endometrial tissues, but 18.18% in normal endometria;the expression of VEGF in the two groups was significantly different(χ2=14.48,P0.01);survivin and VEGF had the positive relation in the ectopic endometriumal expression of adenomyosis patient(r=0.8755).Conclusions Survivin and VEGF plays an important role in the development of endmetriosis.
