Nachweis von Aromatase-Expression im eutopen Endometrium mittels reverse-phase Protein Arraying bei Patientinnen mit Endometriose
This prospective study investigated aberrant aromatase expression in eutopic endometrium using reverse-phase protein arraying in 115 symptomatic women. While initial comparisons between all patients with and without endometriosis showed no significant difference, analysis corrected for hormonal medication revealed significantly higher aromatase levels in the endometriosis group. This elevation was particularly pronounced in patients with minimal to mild disease stages (rAFS I and II). The findings demonstrate that high-throughput screening can precisely detect these disease-specific molecular changes in the endometrium.
