Abstract

Objective:To investigate the expression and clinical significance of SKP2 in endometriosis. Methods:Thirty specimens of eutopic and ectopic endometrial tissues were obtained from patients with endometriosis(observation group).Thirty specimens of normal endometrium were also obtained from women with other benign disease(control group).SKP2 was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results:The increased expression level of SKP2 was seen in the endometriosis group(ectopic endometrium group and eutopic endometrium group) compared with that of control group.Increased expression of SKP2 was detected in the ectopic endometrium group compared with that of the eutopic endometrium group. The SKP2 expression in the secretory phase was significantly higher than that in the proliferative phase in the eutopic group. In the proliferative phase, the SKP2 expression in the ectopic endometrium group was significantly higher than that in the eutopic endometrium group and control group. In the secretory phase, the increased SKP2 expression was detected in the eutopic endometrium group compared with that of the control group. Conclusion:The up-regulation of SKP2 in endometriosis suggestes that SKP2 may play a role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
