Abstract
Abstract Randomized control trials (RCTs) are widely accepted as a gold standard for scientific evaluation of all treatments. Benign gynecological conditions such as chronic pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, and subfertility can be treated with suboptimal therapies when there is not a commitment to the development of new drugs and a thorough evaluation of the relative merits of existing ones. This article focuses on the issues regarding the design and analysis of RCTs that are pertinent to benign gynecology.
