Interventional Ultrasound Combined with Medicine in the Treatment for Endometriosis Cyst

[Objective]To investigate the clinical effects of mifepristone and gestrinone combined with ultrasound guided percutaneous ethanol injection in the treatment for endometriosis cyst. [Methods]118 patients with emdometrioma cyst accepted the ultrasound guided puncturing and aspiration via vagina,and were injected anhydrous ethanol. After treatment,these patients were divided into three groups:33 cases had no drug (control group),45 cases had mifepristone 25 mg/d (mifepristone group) and 40 cases had gestrinone 2.5 mg twice a week (gestrinone group) for three to six months. The recurrence rate,clinical effect and adverse reactions of all groups were compared in 2-year follow-up. [Results] The recurrence rates of the mifepristone group and the gestrinone group after one year were 6.7%(3/45) and 7.5%(3/40) respectively,which were significantly lower than that of the control group 36.3% (12/33) ( P0.05). The recurrence rates of all groups were no significant difference(P0.05). The adverse effect rate of mifepristone group was 15.6%(7/45),which was significantly lower than that of the gestrinone group (47.5%) (19/40)(P0.05). [Conclusion]After the treatment of ultrasound guided percutaneous ethanol injection combined with mifepristone or gestrinone for three to six months,the effect of sclerotherapy for endometrioma cyst was consolidated,and the recurrence rate of endometrioma cyst reduced. And the adverse effect of mifepristone was less than that of gestrinone significantly.
