Clinical Analysis of Uterine Artery Embolization in Treating 62 Cases with Adenomyosis

Abstract
Objective To discuss the clinical effect of uterine artery embolization in treating adenomyosis.Methods 62 cases with adenomyosis diagnosed with the clinical symptoms and confirmed by ultrasound examination received uterine artery embolization.Observation was made to the change of the dysmenorrhea degree,menstrual blood volume and uteri volume of the patients after operation.Results: Out of the 62 patients,56 patients had no more dysmenorrheal 2 months after operation;4 patients showed significant relief of the symptoms soon after operation and dysmenorrheal disappeared 4 months later;the menstrual blood volume decreased significantly in 52 cases after operation,all the cases showed uteri volume and lesions kept contracting.Conclusions Uterine artery embolization is of small wound,good safety,obvious curative effect in treating adenomyosis and it is helpful in improving the living quality of the patients.
