Abstract
Objective To study the role of intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) in endometriosis. Methods The expression of ICAM-1 were detected by using immunohistochemical method in 36 specimens of endometrium and 36 specimens of endometriotic tissue from patients with endometriosis and 30 specimens of endometrium from patients without endometriosis.47 peritoneal fluid of patients with endometriosis and 41 peritoneal fluid of patients without endometriosis were studied by ELISA.Results ① The expression of ICAM-1 among the three groups, endometriotic tissueendometrium from endometriosisendometrium from non-endometriosis.② The expression of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) in peritoneal fluid of patients with endometriosis were significantly higher than the controls.③ The results from Ⅰ~Ⅱphase and Ⅲ~Ⅳphase patients with endometriosis showed the same trend,P=0.37.Conclusions The abnormal expression of ICAM-1 may play a role in endometriosis.
