Effects of Medroxyprogesterone acetate combined with anastrozole on postmenopausal endometriosis

Objective: To investigate the effects of medroxyprogesterone acetate combined with anastrozole on postmenopausal endometriosis and to evaluate its safety.Methods: A total of 46 cases of uterine endometriosis were treated with intramuscular medroxyprogesterone acetate combined with oral anastrozole for hale a year,then evaluate efficacy and safety of the treatment.Results: B ultrasound showed that ectopic lesions size were significant smaller compared with taht before treatment(P0.05).Pain score was significantly lower after treatment(P0.05).E2 levels were significantly reduced after treatment(P0.05).But no significant difference in other hormone levels was observed.No severe side reactions were observed,but patients gained body weight after treatment(P0.05)Conclusion: Medroxyprogesterone acetate and anastrozole combination therapy is effective on for postmenopausal endometriosis,and it’s worthy of application in large scale.
