Abstract
Objective:To detect the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor receptors(VEGFR)flt-1 and KDR mRNA in the ectopic and eutopic endometrium of patients with endometriosis.Methods:44 specimens of ovarian endometrioma and 30 eutopic endometrium were biopsied from 53 patients with endometriosis;another 40 specimens of endometrium were biopsied from women without endometriosis.Reverse transcript-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was utilized to examine expression and the level of KDR mRNA and flt-1 mRNA in the endometrium specimens. Results:Among endometriotic lesions,KDR mRNA and flt-1 mRNA expressed higher level than women without endometriosis. The expression of KDR protein was higher in the secretory phase than that in proliferative phase,on the contrary,flt-1 protein expression was higher in proliferative phase than that in secretory phase. Conclusions:The VEGF receptors KDR mRNA and flt-1 mRNA highly expressed in endometrial endothelial cells of endometriosis, and showed a pronounced menstrual cycle-dependency,the VEGFR's function in angiogenesis of endometriosis might be related to the transfer of the disease.
