Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effects of ubiquitin on the pathogenesis of adenomyosis and cell apoptosis. Methods: Expression of ubiquitin in eutopic, ectopic endometrium and stroma cells in adenomyosis were tested by immunohistochemistry SP method. The number of apoptosis cells was counted by HE stain and compared with that of the normal endometrium. Results: The expression of ubiquitin was higher and apoptosis number was lower in ectopic endometrium in adenomyosis than that in controls, especially in stroma cells. The ubiquitin expression was higher in eutopic endometrium than that in normal controls(P 0.05).Conclusion: The abnormality of eutopic endometrium is favorable for endometrium ectopia.Apoptosis might be inhibited by ubiquitin which might play an important role in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis.
