This literature review examined knowledge, self-care practices, and recognition of warning signs among women aged 18 to 35 with ovarian cysts in Latin America between 2020 and 2025. The authors conducted structured searches across multiple databases but found no studies that simultaneously met the criteria for region, age group, specific ovarian condition, and assessment of patient knowledge or self-care behaviors. Consequently, the final analysis included zero directly eligible regional studies, highlighting a significant gap in localized evidence despite international data suggesting heterogeneous knowledge levels. Relevance to endometriosis: listed as one indication for GnRH antagonists, though the paper's main focus is uterine fibroids.
