Abstract

Bakgrund: Endometrios är en kronisk sjukdom som drabbar upp till 10 procent av alla kvinnor i fertil ålder. Sjukdomen debuterar oftast i 25- till 30- årsåldern, i form av symtom som samlagssmärta, rikliga blödningar, smärtsamma menstruationer och kronisk mag- och bäckensmärta. Syfte: Att beskriva kvinnors upplevelse av livskvalitén vid endometrios, samt beskriva undersökningsgrupperna i de lästa artiklarna. Metod: En litteraturstudie. Data samlades in från databaserna Cinahl, Scopus och PubMed. 13 relevanta vetenskapliga artiklar valdes ut och blev basen i denna litteraturstudie. Resultat: Endometrios påverkar de flesta kvinnor negativt. Kvinnorna påverkades fysiskt genom smärta som ofta uppkom i samband med ägglossning eller menstruation. Smärtan upplevdes som krampande, molande eller knivhugg i magen. Smärtan och kraftiga blödningar ledde till att många kvinnor avstod från aktiviteter i deras vardagliga liv. Kvinnorna påverkades även psykiskt, då många upplevde ett dåligt och nonchalant bemötande från vården, då differentialdiagnoser ställdes i den långa väntan på rätt diagnos. Slutsats: Kvinnors livskvalité påverkas negativt psykiskt, fysiskt och socialt. Kvinnorna påverkades psykiskt av bemötandet från vården innan diagnosen ställts, även behandlingarna kunde ge psykiska biverkningar. Kraftiga smärtor och rikliga blödningar påverkade också kvinnorna fysiskt. Kvinnorna påverkades även socialt av sin rädsla för intimitet med sin partner, vilket påverkade relationen negativt. Relationer till närstående påverkades då vissa kvinnor avslutade sina relationer med vänner och familj på grund av sina rikliga blödningar i kombination med smärta. Det var även vanligt att studier och arbete blev drabbade på grund av sjukdomens kraftiga symtom vilket i många fall ledde till koncentrationssvårigheter och frånvaro.
