The expression of VEGF and TGF-β_1 in Han and Uigur women with endometriosis in Xinjiang

Objectives: To evaluate VEGFand TGF β\-1 expression in ectopic endometrium from women of Uigur and Han nationality with endometriosis. Methods: We examined VEGFand TGF β\-1 expression in eutopic, ectopic from patients with endometriosis (EMNS) and women without EMNS using immunohistochemical staining. Results: VEGFand TGF β\-1 expression in ectopic, eutopic endometrium with EMS was significantly increased compared with no EMS (P0.01). No statistically significant difference were found in the expression of VEGF and TGF β\-1 between two nations. The expression of VEGF had positive correlation with that of TGF β\-1 (P0.01) . Conclusions: The results indicated that VEGF and TGF β\-1 might play an important role in the pathogenesis and development of endometriosis.
