Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the diagnosis value of ultrasonograph and serum sICAM-1 in diagnosis of ovarian endometriomas. METHOD 58 patients with ovarian endometriomas and 35 controls were analyzed with ultrasonography of type B and serum sICAM-1 detection. RESULTS The serum levels of sICAM-1 in ovarian endometriomas were higher than those in controls ( P 0.05) . The sensitivity, specificity, positive predit value, negative predict value and accuracy of combined detection with ultrasonograph and serum sICAM-1 was 91.4%, 82.9%, 89.8%, 85.3% and 88.2%, respectively. CONCLUSION Using ultrasonography and the serum marker sICAM-1 to examine and diagnose the ovarian endometriomas can improve the clinical diagnosis accuracy.
