Abstract

Objective To evaluate the ultrasonographic features and the types of adenomyosis and to analyze the reasons of misdiagnosis. Methods To analyze retrospectively ultrasonographic feature of 196 cases with adenomyosis and compared with the results of operation and pathology. Results ①According to the results of the operation and pathology, there were 5 types of ultrasonic imaging characteristics. ②Ultrasonographic coincidence rate (62.4%) during 1999.1-2001.1 was obviously higher than coincidence rate (9.7%) during 1991.1-1998.12. ③Ultrasonographic coincidence rate of examining by transabdomenal ultrasound (TAUS) and endovaginal ultrasound (EVUS) was 72.9%, which was obviously higher than coincidence rate (14.9%) of examining by TAUS. Conclusion For reducing misdiagnosis rate, we should grasp pathologic features and ultrasonic imaging characteristics of adenomyosis and deep our understanding.
