Abstract

Objective Analysis the clinical character of 4 cases of intestinal endometriosis,which were treated in surgery department of Peking Union Medical College.Methods There were 4 cases of intestinal endometriosis from Jan 1985 to Oct 2005.Anlysis the ages,past history,clinical symptom,physical examination,anxillary examination,operation style and the follow-up.Results 4 cases of intestinal endometriosis was analysed.The average age was 39.8 years old.Emergent surgery were performed in two cases.1 patient had changes of defecating.No patient was diagnosed as endometriosis preoperatively.2 cases had involvement of rectum,one had involvement of appendix and cecum,one had distal ileum involvement.Conclusion Women of reproductive ages,who had cyclic intestinal symptom and the past history of pelvic endometriosis,should be highly suspected with intestinal endometriosis.The treatment should be indivisualized.Follow-up was highly recommended.The collaboration of the gynecologist and the surgeon shoud be emphasized.
