Relationship Between Inflammation-Nutrition Composite Indices and Ovarian Endometrioma: A Retrospective Observational Study
This study found that inflammation-nutrition composite indices like NP/AGR, NPAR, NLR/AGR, PLR/AGR, and SII/AGR are better predictors of ovarian endometrioma than inflammation indices alone.

This retrospective observational study evaluated whether inflammation indices (neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio [NLR], platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio [PLR], systemic immune inflammation index [SII]) and inflammation–nutrition composite indices (including NPAR, NLR/AGR, PLR/AGR, SII/AGR, and NP/AGR) could predict ovarian endometrioma among women of reproductive age in China. Using data from 333 women with diagnosed ovarian endometrioma and 506 controls, multivariate logistic regression showed that all listed inflammation and inflammation–nutrition composite indices were significantly higher in the endometrioma group, with increased OMA risk across tertiles. ROC analysis found NP/AGR to have the highest discriminative performance (AUC 0.799). The paper’s limitation is its retrospective design, which constrains causal interpretation and generalizability. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically ovarian endometrioma prediction using inflammation–nutrition composite indices.
