Clinical and Prognostic Analysis of 288 Patients with Endometriosis

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics,treatment,and prognosis of 288 patients with endometriosis.Methods The clinical records of 288 patients with endometriosis were analyzed retrospectively.Results The most common symptoms were chronic pelvic pain(58.3%),dysmenorrhea(33.3%),and pelvic mass(27.8%).Of the patients,65.3% had other gynecological diseases simultaneously.According to American Fertility Society score,18.1% of the patients were in stage Ⅰ,18.1% in stage Ⅱ,30.5% in stage Ⅲ,and 33.3% in stage Ⅳ.The proportions of patients undergoing conservative surgery,semi-radical mastectomy,radical mastectomy were 54.1%,29.2%,and 16.7%,respectively.After surgery,60.3% of the patients received drug therapy,and the overall recurrence rate was 12.1%.Conclusion The recurrence of endometriosis after surgery may relate to the patient's age,clinical stage,pathological type,surgical approaches,and postoperative medication.
