Endometriosis-associated infertility in rabbits correlated with elevated blood β-endorphin and prolactin, and decreased FSH, LH, E2, and P, suggesting β-endorphin increase contributes to reproductive endocrine disturbance.

Abstract

In order to find out the possible function of Beta-endorphin (β-EP) in the aetiology of endometriosis-associated-infertility (EAI) and to develop a new way to treat the EAI, EAI hares were the subjects to be tested the concentrations ofβ-EP, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), tubal factorinfertility and normal rabbits before making animal models successfully. Analyzed were the correlation betweenβ-EP, FSH, LH, E 2, P, T, PL. In conclution, the consentrations ofβ-EP and PRL in the blood of EAI and EMT hares were higher (P0 05) than the contrast. However, the concentrations of serum FSH, LH, E 2, P were lessened. These changes were greater (P0 05) in EAI hares. There was a significant correlation between the concentrations ofβ-EP, FSH, LH, E 2, PRL. The secretion ofβ-EP was increased by EMT. The raisedβ-EP, one of the possible reasons which result in the EAI, correlates with reproductive endocrine disturbance.
