Complex clinical and imaging examination of 785 women of childbearing age with benign nodular lesions of the breast discovered nonproliferative nodular mastopathy in 67 %, proliferative nodular mastopathy in 5.7 %, marked diffuse mastopathy in 4.7 %, sclerosing adenosis in 8 %, cysts in 4.5 %, fibrous adenoma in 3.6 %, chronic inflammation in 3.2 %, intraductal papilloma in 2 %, lipoma in 1.3 % of cases. 12 % of patients with nonproliferative nodular mastopathy developed proliferative breast lesions at different time within 5 years of follow-up. Proliferation incidence was significantly higher in cases with nodular mastopathy combined with internal endometriosis and/or myoma of the womb (14.7 % ) as compared to those free from gynecological disease (4 % ).
