It addresses the research gap concerning how cloud technologies contribute to sustainable healthcare delivery in emerging markets. Methods Using an exploratory case study approach, we applied the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) framework to evaluate cloud computing's influence across four strategic dimensions: customer engagement, financial performance, internal processes, and organizational learning. Data collection involved document analysis (47 corporate materials, 18 industry reports), academic literature review, and semi-structured interviews with five key stakeholders at Practo and two external healthcare IT experts. Results Cloud adoption significantly enhanced Practo's capabilities in delivering personalized healthcare experiences (customer satisfaction increased from 82% to 88%), fortified data security (unauthorized access reduced by 94%), reduced operational costs (infrastructure costs decreased from 18.4% to 12.7% of revenue), and accelerated platform innovation (deployment frequency increased from bi-weekly to daily). Cloud-enabled trust mechanisms emerged as key enablers of stakeholder confidence, particularly in underserved markets. Conclusions Cloud computing acts as a transformative catalyst for digital healthcare platforms in emerging economies. This study contributes to theory by connecting cloud infrastructure to trust dynamics and operational sustainability while offering a strategic framework for healthcare organizations seeking to implement cloud solutions in resource-constrained settings.
