Abstract
Objective:To investigate the ultrastructure of glandular epithelium of ectopic endometrium in endometriosis, explore the characteristics of ectopic endometrium and its role in pathogenesis of endometriosis. Methods:The glandular epitheliums of ectopic endometrium from patients with adenomyosis and ovarian endometrioma were observed by transmission electron microscope (TEM).Results:The pathological characteristics of ultrastructure of glandular epithelium of ectopic endometrium from patients with adenomyosis and ovarian endometrioma were different from those from normal endometrium. Conclusion:The changes of ultrastructure of ectopic glandular epithelium in endometriosis make it easy to grow into endometriotic lesions.
