Abstract
Objective To establish an endometriosis(EMs) model in Mice. Methods 10 Female KM virgin mice with sexual maturation were induced by estrogen injection prior to operation.During the laparotomy,a part of right uterus was taken and the endometrium was implanted on the right abdominal wall. The ectopic endometrium was taken out at 21 days after implantation, examined by the methods of histology and immunohistochemistry. Results One mouse died because of anesthetic accident, nice mice survived, and the ectopic endometrium growing in the abdominal wall formed a cystic mass with a large cavity containing much mucus. It showed an endometrial structure similar to that of normal endometrium. The success rate of this method was 90%.Conclusion The ectopic endometrium established by this method grew well, which suggests that the mice model established by this method is suitable for endometriosis research.
