Abstract

An endometrial stromal sarcoma arising in the cervix uteri of a 29-year old female in which positive preoperative cervical cytology was obtained is described. Possible origin of the tumor in pre-existing endometriosis or in an ectopic stromal nest is hypothesized and the cytologic presentation in cervical smears is described.
