Abstract
Objective:To observe the ultrastructural change of eutopic and ectopic endometrium from EMT model rats and to explore the fate of the ectopic endometrium in woman with endometriosis.Methods:Firstly, to reproduce rat endometriosis model. Secondly, eutopic and ectopic endometrium were acquired for transmission election microscopic examination on the 2 nd、4 th、6 th、8 th、10 th、12 th day after operation.Results:In comparison with the eutopic, atrophy of the uterine glands in ectopic endometrium was commonly seen.With the time extending, apoptosis of glandular cells, stroma cells and macrophages were increased. In some endometrium, necrotic cells and altered organelles were seen,but hyperplasia of the glandular epithelium in ectopic endometrium was observed in the 10 th~12 th day after operation.Conclusion:Ectopic endometrium may develop in two possible directions: eliminated by apoptosis or necrosis and survived.
