Abstract
Objective:To explore the role of insulin-like growth factor Ⅰ (IGF-I),Ⅱ (IGF-Ⅱ) in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Methods:Immunohistochemical assay was adopted to detect the levels of IGF-Ⅰ and IGF-Ⅱ in specimen of endometrum from the ectopic and eutopic endometrium from 30 cases of clinical endometriosis and 20 normal endomentrium. Results:The expression level of IGF-Ⅰ in ectopic endometrial was higher than those in eutopic endometrium (P0.05) and normal endometrium (P0.01);the expression level of IGF-Ⅰ in eutopic endometrium was higher than that in normal endometrium, but there was no significant difference (P0.05).There was no IGF-Ⅱ expression in ectopic endometrium. The expression level of IGF-Ⅱ in normal endometrium was higher than that in eutopic endometrium (P0.05).Conclusion:The abnormal expression of IGF-Ⅰ and IGF-Ⅱ possibly play an important role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
