Analysis on clinical effect of Mirena for treatment of adenomyosis

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of Minera for treatment of adenomyosis induced menorrhagia and moderate to severe dysmenorrhea.Methods:Thirty-five patients with adenomyosis were selected as treatment group according to symptoms,signs,and color ultrasonographic results,then Minera was placed into cervical cavity;thirty-five patients with adenomyosis were selected as control group,then they were treated with oral administration of Dan'efukang decoction.The indexes including menstrual volume,analgesic effect,and the change of uterine volume in the two groups were compared,and the adverse reactions were observed.Results:At six and twelve months after placing Minera in treatment group,the menstrual volume decreased significantly,dysmenorrhea was relieved obviously,compared with before treatment,there was statistically significant difference(P0.01).The decrease amplitudes of PBAC value and dysmenorrheal score in treatment group were significantly higher than those in control group(P0.01),there was no statistically significant difference in uterine volume between before and after treatment(P 0.05),compared with control group,there was no statistically significant difference(P0.05);no severe adverse reactions occurred in the two groups.Conclusion:Minera is a safe and effective intrauterine device for treatment of adenomyosis.
