Begining of integration RATP model in LASER/F for thermo-radiative simulation of an urban district with vegetation

Abstract
LASER/F is designed to simulate the energy budget of the urban climate. This model has been developed for the needs of urban climate research. The framework of the model is described in this paper. This article deals with simulating radiative fluxes and distribution of the radiative energy in an urban canyon. Specific algorithms involving in these computations are presented. When vegetation is present on the ground, the transpiration is slightly underestimated using it. On the other hand, the model RATP simulates well the spatial distribution of radiation and leaf-gas exchanges within vegetation canopies as a function of canopy microclimate. The aim of the paper is to improve some geometric procedures used in LASER/F in order to obtain globally a good level of performance. Coupling these models stays chalenging and complicated. Then, we will consider the influence of urban planning and in particular the influence of urban vegetation in the model.
