Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects and safety of mifepristone and gestrinone cooperatd with intervening ethanol injection to endometrioma cyst by ultrasound. Methods Intervening ethanol by ultrasound guiding was performed in 92 patients with emdometrioma cyst. These patients were divided into three groups:23 cases had no drug(control group),38 cases had mifepristone (mifepristone group) and 31 cases had gestrinone (gestrinone group). The mifepristone group had had mifepristone (12 5 mg qd) from the month the after intervening ethanol. The gestrinone group had had gestrinone (2 5 mg,twoin one week) too.Recurrence rate and side effect rate were compared among these groups two years later. Results The recurrence rates of the mifepristone group and the gestrinone group were 7 9 %(3/38) and 9 7 %(3/31),respectively,which were significantly lower than that of the control group (34 8)%(8/23,P0 05).The side effect rate of mifepristone was 13 2 %(5/38),which was significantly lower than that of the gestrinone group (41 9 %)(13/31,P0 05)? Conclusion Having mifepristone and gestrinone after intervening ethanol among three to six months on patents with endometrioma cyst is effective.Mifepristone has less side effects than that of gestrinone.
