They noted that all 35 homosexual men with immune thrombocytopenia in their clinic were seropositive for human T-lymphotrophic virus type III (HTLV-III) and that 3 of these man have developed AIDS.In our community-based referral practice we have treated eight homosexual men for immune thrombocytopenia.
