Abstract

Mefenamic acid 750 mg or placebo was taken, double-blind, by patients 2 hours before CO2 laser treatment of cervical premalignant lesions. During and after treatment each patient was assessed as to the type and severity of sensation experienced. Mefenamic acid did not prevent the dysmenorrhea-like symptom experienced by many patients undergoing such treatment.
