Abstract
[Objective] To explore the specific expression and significance of EG-VEGF (Endocrine Gland-derived Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, EG-VEGF) in both eutopic endometrum and the nude mice model of endometriosis. [Methods] The late secretory endometria of 24 examples with endometriosis patients (EM group) and 24 examples without endometriosis (NEM group) were scraped and transplanted into the abdominopelvic cavity of the nude mice. The mice were killed on 5th d, 15th d and 30th d, then the implanted ectopic lesions were obtained. The expression of EG-VEGF mRNA in eutopic endometria and ectopic lesions of the nude mice were detected with RT-PCR and in situ hybridization. [Results] RT-PCR: The expression of EG-VEGF mRNA of all ectopic lesions was significantly higher than that in their corresponding eutopic endometria in both EM and NEM groups (P 0.05), which the expression on 15th d was the strongest and there was significant difference compared with that on 30th d (P 0.05). In situ hybridization: The positive expressive signals of EG-VEGF mRNA were seen in the endochylema of the glandular cells, interstitial and vascular endothelial cells in both eutopic endometria and ectopic lesions, and the expression of the lesions on 30th d was weaker than that on 15th d and 5th d. [Conclusion] The expression of EG-VEGF was also detected in eutopic endometria. EG-VEGF expressed excessively in ectopic lesions in EM, and its expressive extent was correlative with the activity of ectopic cells.
