Effect of Huazhuo Jiedu Huoxue Recipe on plasma orphanin FQ and prostaglandins in the patients of endometriosis with pain

AIM:To evaluate the effect of Huazhuo Jiedu Huoxue Recipe(Herba Agastaches,Herba Eupatorii,Rhizoma Pinelliae,Pericarpium Citri reticulatae,Poria,etc.) on plasma orphanin FQ(OFQ) and prostaglandins in the patients of endometriosis(EM) with pain.METHODS:The concentrations of plasma OFQ and prostaglandins were measured by radioimmunoassay before and after the treatment on the patients of EM with pain.29 patients of EM with severe pain(severe group),31 patients with slight pain(slight group) and 25 patients without pain(control group) were studied.RESULTS:The levels of OFQ、 PGF_(2a)、 PGE_2、 6-keto-PGF_(1a) and TXB_2 in plasma were significantly higher in patients of EM with pain than that of patients without pain(P(0.05)),while the ratio of 6-keto-PGF_(1a) versus TXB_2 was much lower in that of patients with pain(P(0.05)).The plasma OFQ、 PGF_(2a) and PGE_2 in severe group was significantly higher than the slight group(P(0.05)).Plasma OFQ、 PGF_(2a) and PGE_2 contents were significantly decreased,and plasma 6-keto-PGF_(1a) level was markably increased after the treatment with Huazhuo Jiedu Huoxue Recipe(P(0.05)).CONCLUSIONS:1.Pain is associated with OFQ and prostaglandins in patients of endometriosis with pain.2.Huazhuo Jiedu Huoxue Recipe can make plasma OFQ、 PGF_(2a) and PGE_2 contents significantly decrease,and 6-keto-PGF_(1a) level markably increase.
