Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) zur laparoskopischen Endometriose-Operation in der Uni-Frauenklinik Jena: Langzeitergebnisse aus Patientenperspektive

This retrospective study examined patient-reported outcomes after laparoscopic endometriosis surgery at the Universitäts-Frauenklinik Jena by surveying 401 women who underwent surgery between January 2013 and August 2016. Health-related quality of life was impaired and similarly to other chronic conditions, with psychological well-being more affected than physical well-being, and the operation was associated with symptom reduction—especially pain severity—measured by an NRS decreasing from 70 preoperatively to 25 postoperatively. Nearly 70% of respondents reported improved quality of life, and among women who reported infertility, fast 50% reported a pregnancy after surgery. A key limitation explicitly noted is that the study is based on patients treated up to 2016 and is currently being expanded to include patients operated on after 2016. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it reports long-term patient-perspective PROM results following laparoscopic endometriosis surgery.
