Abstract

Abstract This study offers a well-organized, optimal configuration that is specially made to satisfy the many requirements of electric bikes in more favorable circumstances. Every now and then, permanent magnet (PM) machines in electric vehicles (EVs) encounter difficulties such as large speed range action and considerable field weakening at high temperatures, which can cause permanent demagnetization. In order to mitigate the dangers associated with the field weakening zone, we suggest implementing a multi-speed transmission system to limit working concentrations to a particular speed and torque range. The PM machine’s magnetic characteristics and design, along with the transmission gear ratio, are tuned to reduce the possibility of irreversible demagnetization under all conditions. Comparable analysis using multi-speed transmission structures reveals numerous improvements that result in an increase in reliability by reducing the operating point of field weakening from 57% to 10%. The present work provides a comprehensive approach to enhance the longevity and economic feasibility of PM machines in electric vehicle applications by impeding demagnetization via advanced powertrain architecture..
