Abstract

A case of endometriosis of the terminal ileum and appendix presenting as an acute surgical emergency is reported. At laparotomy, the macroscopic appearance of the lesion mimicked Crohn’s disease. Pathological and clinical features as well as problems in the differential diagnosis of intestinal endometriosis are discussed.
