Research on expression of TGF-β mRNA in endometriosis.

Objective:To study the correlation between transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β)and the pathogenetic of endometriosis and apoptosis.Methods:The ectopic endometria were obtained from 12 patients with endometriosis , and the eutopic endometria were obtained from 12 healthy person as the control group.RT-PCR was used to detect the expression of TGF-β mRNA, and Western-blot analysis was used to detect protein level of TGF-β.TUNEL was used to detect the proportion of apoptosis.Results:The proportion of apoptosis in ectopic endometrium was significantly lower than that in the eutopic endometriurn, but the expression of TGF-β mRNA and protein in the ectopic endometrium was significant higher than that in the eutopic endometriurn.Conclusions:The change of apoptosis may play an important role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis, and probably it is because of the increased TGF-β level.
