Abstract

Cities are always dealing with growing traffic, effective emergency response, and road safety issues. This paper proposes an Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) that optimizes traffic signal timings dynamically in real-time based on vehicle counts and recognizes emergency vehicles and accidents. To accomplish these tasks, the system utilizes advanced technologies, such as sensor-based vehicle detection, processing algorithms, and advanced communication networks. By means of simulations and performance analysis, the suggested ITMS shows great promise in enhancing traffic flow, reducing congestion, and lowering emergency response times over conventional fixed-time signal systems. This study contributes to the development of sustainable and resilient urban transportation solutions.
