Determination of Serum Tumor Markers in Patients with Adenomyosis and Its Clinical Significance

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of serum tumor markers in patients with adenomyosis.Method The subjects were divided into four groups:37cases of adenomyosis(group A),38 cases of adenomyosis complicated with leiomyoma(group B),64cases with leiomyoma(group C) and 32 normal cases served as health control group(group D).The serum CA 125 ,CA 199 ,CA 153 ,AFP,CEA were measured with immunoradiologic method.Results The level of CA 125 in both group A and group B was significantly higher than that in group C and group D(131.5±15.5,112.2±20.9 vs 18.5±5.3,14.4±6.2U/ml, P 0.01).The level of CA 199 in group A and group B was also significantly higher than that in group C and group D(36.1±10.1,31.2±13.4 vs 13.4±4.3,12.2±2.2U/ml, P 0.01).The positive rate of CA 125 in group A and group B was significantly higher than that in group C and D(78.4%,76.3% vs 7.8% and 6.3%, P 0.01).The positive rate of CA 199 in group A and group B was significantly higher than that in group C and group D(27.0%,21.1% vs 4.7%,3.1%, P 0.05).The sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value and negative predivtive value of CA 125 in group A and group B was 77.3%,92.2%,92.1% and 77.6%,respectively.The sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value and negative predivtive value for CA 199 in group A and group B was 24.0%,95.3%,85.7% and 51.7% respectively.Conclusions The serum levels of CA 125 and CA 199 significantly ascend in patients with adenomyosis.CA 125 may be a better predecting marker for clinical diagnosis of adenomyosis.
