Abstract
The longitudinal muscle fibers are a critical anatomic landmark to guide the minimally invasive prostate surgeon into the correct plane of dissection of the SV and VD. They most likely correspond to the so-called musculus vesicoprostaticus, the median bundle of the dorsal muscle bundle of the outer longitudinal layer of the bladder.
